Instagram added a new section where you can download all of your account Data stored on their servers. Photos, videos, likes and comments are all included in the download option that are being sent through an email
The availability of the tool is based on the web only, so it’s recommended to use your computer to get your Data downloaded directly to it.
So to get your data:
1- Login to Instagram on your browser
2- Navigate to your Profile, then Privacy and Security
3- And scroll down until you see Data Download, right below it tap on Request Download
4- You will be directed to a page to enter your email along with the password.
The process takes up to 48 hours, Instagram is collecting all of your data during that period of time to send it as a package via your email.
It is mentioned on TechCrunch that this tool put instagram in compliance of the European Union’s GDPR privacy law that goes into effect on May 25th. It also gives users a way to take their old photos to other photo sharing sites for the first time. Before today, Instagram users had to rely on sketchy third-party websites to download photos.
